My role in this project is to create all the art assets in the gameplay with the 3 different art feelings corresponding to each level. Since in the original Hopper, there are different scenarios, we also wanted to have different scenarios in our cover version for the player to discover.
If the player looks closely, from rough draft to thick paint, they will notice that as the bunny climbs up, the art style of the background gradually changes, which is exactly what we wanted to provide to the player.

The three images below are the sections of the whole gameplay:
The Rainforest, the Sky, and the Outer Space
I try to maintain the natural shift of color in the original vertical painting. In the “Rainforest” scenario, the art style is a combination of pencil sketching and watercolor; in the “Sky” scenario, it is acrylic paint; and in the last scenario “Outer Space”, the texture is close to oil painting. The platforms are depicted with a shadow cast beneath to give a feeling of space. The color hue here is from green to light violet, the player, a bunny which is pink, is supposed to be contrasted from the background.

Here are the 3 sets of animation I created for the character bunny:
1) running, 2) jumping, and 3) driving a spaceship
While the running and jumping is based on the lively moments of rabbits, a rabbit driving a spaceship is more for fun: why can't a rabbit fly up and explore when the platforms are exhausted :)

And these are the platforms I made for the bunny to jump on:
The type 1 branch is more drafted with the feeling of cardboard, while the type of the branch is more refined. We finally decided to use the type 1.
The cloud is more solid in style.
